Hey Beauties! How is summer treating you so far? I’m a bit of a workaholic these days, but trying to get outside as often as I can for some vitamin D and relaxation! It soothes the soul. ❤
Okay: Here are some of my fave items and summer routine essentials!
I have long been a fan of Old Navy’s bikinis and swimwear. Comfortable, excellent size range, and top-knotch prints all the while very affordable and accesible to most locations. This one is from last year’s collection so I don’t think it’s available anymore, but I am crushing hard for their palm print this season. Probably on sale?
I love the trend of colourful mirrored lenses, so fun. Consider big glamour glasses as they also protect the thin skin around the eyes. And: please don’t spend a mint on sunnies as they will likely get damaged, lost, or swapped mid-party. Maybe save the expensive eyewear for that trip to Italy you’re planning!
This balm is BOMB. You need to keep your kisser very moisturized during the summer so why not do it in the fun shade Pixi Pink?
What they say: “What it is formulated to do: Awaken lips with this super-nourishing balm. The unique formula is rich but lightweight and gives a gorgeous wash of colour to lips – it’s the perfect pick-me-up anytime! Packed full of beneficial ingredients, this balm soothes lips immediately & nourishes them long term. Beneficial ingredients and what they do: Shea butter nourishes the skin Vitamin E protects the skin”
Looooove this mit for a quick exfoliating treatment in the shower. Slough off dead skin and get the blood flowing to prevent the appearnance of cellulite with this “handy” tool, sorry for the awful pun! #sorrynotsorry Also if you’re one of those self-tanner types then you understand the importance of exfoliating before applying your tanner. Boom!
Weleda’s Argume Fragrance
Oranges, citrus, and sunshine is how I want to smell pretty much all year round, but definitely in the summer months. The Weleda fragrances have an aromatheraputic effect and are made from the highest grade of essential oils. Pack it with you ‘cuz it sure is nice to spritz throughout the day for a moment of ohhhmmmmm….
Admittedly, I’ve never been a big fan of sunscreen and now I am starting to see the sun damage on my 30-something skin. Woopsie. Just do it: Wear a hat, wear big shades to cover the eye area, wear the sunscreen, worship the shade when possible, and your future self will thank you.
As far as natural sunscreens go, which I’m all about these days since I really don’t see the point in baking your body in chemicals, Boo Bamboo Skincare SPF30 is excellent! It definitely does the job at protecting your skin from the rays and I love the spray function.
Vitamin C Cream
Speaking of sunshine, Indeed’s affordable vitamin C24 cream is the antidote. I make sure to use this as much as I can in the summer to reverse some of the effects of sun damage like spots and fine lines. 24% is a very high grade vitamin C for a drugstore product, so you get a ton of value for your dollar. If vitamin C is not or has never been part of your arsenault I invite you to try it out.
Enjoy your summer, Beauties! You deserve it.
