Essence does some fab cruelty-free makeup for the diva on a budget! Here are a few of my current faves. In Canada, Essence is available at Shoppers Drug Mart. For our American friends, you’ll find the range at Ulta. NOTE: My prices might be off a little, working from memory.
Essence lip liner in 07 Cute Pink. This creamy pink every-day liner is very easy to wear and blend with almost any lip colour. It has become an absolute must in my collection, along with 06 Satin Mauve. Okay, so they don’t wear all day, but the formula is creamy so it applies nicely, they sharpen well and the price is right at around the $2 mark.
Make Me Brow eyebrow gel mascara is magical, not only for the price point at $2.99 I think, but for the formula. It applies perfectly with the small, flexible wand and does not have an overly wet formula. It almost dries down to a powder which is perfect. It won’t run or migrate, honest. I’ve been using this little beauty for a few years now off and on. It is a perfect travel companion since it is small and a one-step brow fix. Downside is there are only two shades.
Lash & Brow Gel Mascara. This is a must in anyone’s beauty kit. It works beautifully as a clear mascara or a brow tamer. Awesome price, I think it’s $2.99 at the moment. You get a ton of product for that small price, too.
Silky Touch Blush in 80 Autumn Peach. Game changer! These blushes are beautiful, totally pigmented, soft and long wearing. There is something extremely special about #80 Autumn Peach, top middle, however. They are not matte but the glow is subtle and not overtly sparkly at all, making it perfect for daytime or evening. I think they are around the $2-$3 mark also. Pretty amazing!
